Research has shown that learning music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas. Offering children the opportunities to experience singing, listening to, and moving to music is really bringing a very serious benefit to them as they progress into more formal learning.
Making music involves more than the use of voice or finger agility in playing an instrument. A child learning music uses multiple skill sets simultaneously. Students use their ears and eyes, as well as large and small muscles in active music. Therefore, music supports all learning.
The KCS Music Program inspires students to fulfill their passions and purpose before God through their creative uniqueness. It gives students the opportunity to explore, develop and demonstrate their God-given creative potential. The fundamentals of music include appreciation, interpretation, and opportunities of performance.
Students perform several times in the year at our Christmas and Spring Programs. The High School Worship Team plays for chapels as well as concerts.
