These procedures are intended to address concerns and ensure the safety of our staff and families, while continuing to provide quality care for parents with Extended School Enrichment needs.
It is always the parents' decision whether inclement weather conditions prevent them from safely transporting their child to school. If parents believe driving conditions are unsafe, they should report their child's absence to the school.
The Head of School/Administrator is responsible for posting snow delays or closure announcements on the FlashAlert (Schoolreport) website, which automatically updates area radio and television stations of the school's status. Parents may view and receive notices regarding Kingspoint closure information on the web by visiting FlashAlert.net (SchoolReport, clicking Tri-Cities, then Kingspoint under the private school list. Since the Pasco School District is most representative of weather and road conditions in our District, we use the following guidelines to make decisions regarding weather-related school closures.
- Kingspont follows Pasco School District's announcement regarding delays or closures.
- If Pasco School District runs "two hours late" on a Kingspoint half day, Kingspoint will run until 1:00 PM, please remember to pack a lunch for your child if this happens.
- In cases of Kingspoint closure, there will be no After School Extended Day.
- If Pasco School District runs "one hour late", school is conducted as usual but one hour late.
- If Pasco School District announces a "mid-day weather closure" after school has begun for the day, Kingspoint will follow Pasco School District.
- The Flashalert.net (Schoolreport) website automatically updates local area radio and television stations of our school.
For Extended Day Program:
- Before School Care may be canceled due to late starts.
- No After School Extended Day on Kingspoint closure days.
